Italian Sausage Pasta

Italian Sausage pasta is a family favorite! This is a super simple and quick recipe we like to do on busy nights.

Ingredients
- (1 lb) Breakfast Sausage
- (16 oz) Penne Pasta
- (1 Tbsp) Olive Oil
- (1/2) Yellow Onion Minced
- (1/2 tsp) Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
- (2 Cloves or measure with your heart) Minced Garlic
- (1/2 tsp) Salt
- (2 Cups) Heavy Cream
- (5 oz) Baby Spinach or Frozen Spinach
- (1 Cup or measure with your heart) Shredded or Powdered Parmesan Cheese
Directions
- Cook penne pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water.
- While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the breakfast sausage along with the onion, garlic, red pepper flakes, and salt until the sausage is not longer pink.
- Drain excess fat from the skillet if needed and return the meat mixture to the pan.
- Turn the heat to low and add the cream. Bring to a simmer and add the spinach.
- Cook, stirring for about 3 minutes or until the spinach is wilted.
- Stir in the parmesan cheese until melted. Stir the pasta into the sauce.
- Serve immediately.
