Certified Grassfed and Animal Welfare Approved
At Bachman Family Farms, we take the treatment of our animals seriously. After a long process we are proud to say that we have met the rigorous standards of two different certifications given by A Greener World. We are proud to raise our beef at such a high standard that allows us to label our beef both Animal Welfare Approved and Certified Grassfed. You can find out more information about the rigorous certification process here.
"A Greener World promotes verified farming practices and encourages food choices that deliver positive impacts for the environment, society and animals—whether farmed or wild. We advocate practical and positive solutions, centered on a range of trusted and transparent market-based certifications, to inspire people to spend their food dollars in ways that result in real change." In order to achieve a grass-fed certification, all of our food products must come from animals that are fed a one hundred percent grass and forage diet. These animals must be raised outdoors on a pasture or range and managed according to the highest welfare and environmental standards. The final qualification is that the animals are raised on an independent farm.
Our animal welfare approved certifications guarantees that our cattle are raised on pasture, on an independent farm that does not use dual production. The farm must follow comprehensive standards for high welfare farming and undergo a yearly in person audit by A Greener World. This audit ensures that the farm is committed to sustainable cattle production.
