FAQs
When will my order be delivered?
We ship on Mondays & Tuesdays (excluding holidays). We'll send you a confirmation email once it's all packed up to let you know when to expect delivery. More shipping questions can be answered here.
When does my meat need to be in the freezer?
As soon as possible after delivery. At room temperature, meat in the box won't begin to thaw for over an hour, but generally, you should get your meat into the freezer as soon as possible.
Where does the meat come from?
Our chicken was raised by David & Mariah Boatright in Sedalia, Missouri.
Why is there a slight red tint to the chicken?
Since our chickens live robust lives out on pasture, they run around. This exercise darkens the meat (even the white meat) because they have additional blood - from living healthy robust lives. When processed, this sometimes leaves a slight red tinge on the meat. It does not hurt anything or taste any different (except for the overall way better taste of pasture-raised chicken) when cooked and is completely safe to eat :) Just a normal part of enjoying real pasture-raised chickens.
P.S. If it bothers you - rinsing them in cold water in the sink for a few minutes will make them pale and "normal colored".
